Sounds a bit like a bad joke. Shouldn’t cheaters be banned completely? And the capability to detect and ban cheaters can be seen every month, when some people cheat their way into the top rankings of the fame events and have to fear no sanctions at all.

And regarding the new event format: The increasing focus on the guild-aspect of the game somehow feels as if they try to create a guilt-trap with the aim of stopping people from quitting the game or only play every once in a while. Just like many other mobage do with their friend and follow systems.

Still a shitty move to bar players who don’t want to join an alliance from acquiring certain rewards.
Well, the EX SA exp card they advertised the event with on twitter will probably require grinding the time-limited quests three hours a day with a full party of alliance members anyways.

At least they refrained from doing something like an alliance ranking that would net additional rewards.

Well, I have no clue if the quests that get released later on have a much higher point gain than the one that’s been released today (maybe it’s only supposed to be a quest that you can ‘complete’ without other party members and can still get a miniscule amount of points). Since the next quest seems to be clear-type, it might be a little less frustrating? Maybe it will just top the dumbness of the first quest, whatever.

My gut-feeling somehow suggests me that Bandai wants to tell us that we should buy the new EX skills if we want freebies. And coerce the whole alliance to do so, too, of course. Shit’s so dumb.

They also seem to tell me in particular that I should buy a new device, since my tablet lags like hell with all those fancy new effects and lots of numbers popping up.

This event is definitely a step in the right direction, if they want everyone but the hardcore payers to quit the game rather sooner than later.
I mean, it’s essentially a CFM event. Players still have the opportunity to get faction cards and some upgrade material playing solo. They just cut out some things from the ‘easy to obtain’-pool and put them into the ‘fuck you, freeloader’-pool.

I’m still annoyed by that shit, though.

It’s certainly worse than I expected. Fair few complaints on the JP wiki too so hopefully they’ll change for the better next kizuna.

      • Dave says:

If they incorporate the kizuna event into their monthly schedule, the next one may very well be the Valentine’s Day event.
If the exclusion of people without strong element-specific EX SA or overall powerful characters continues, it could give people further incentive to spend (since the featured characters will probably be fan-favourites in special costumes).
On the other hand, they could try to get on the good side of the players and advertise the event with something like ‘we heard your complaints and improved this new event mode’.
Considering the development of the game’s player-friendlyness over the past few months, I guess that the former is more likely to happen.

I didn’t really expect the new mode to be that bad, too.

        • Shu says:

So on top of causing alliances to break up, they can break up couples too, nice.

I really hope it’s not monthly. Between kizuna and fame (rush) it’s a lot of attention to give every month.

At least the difficulty jump change is a step in the right direction so far.
