So Ace’s Mode Change IS in this gacha! YES! Guess I’m not pulling until this event comes out, then. Overall, it makes sense (also it’s Ace’s birthday so why not).

And DANG THAT MODE CHANGE. I’m so excited ahhhh. Rest in pieces, rainbow coins.

When the time comes, I hope you all have a wonderful New Years Day!

    • Shu says:

Oh, sorry! They uploaded both videos (both looked awesome) on the same day so I unthinkingly placed them in this new post for visibility.

It’s now confirmed that Ace’s Mode Change is only in Fest phase 5. I’ll edit both posts to stop misleading everyone.

I hope you see this in time, and get plenty of Ace’s Mode Change tomorrow! Have a flaming good year ahead!

    Gave all my blood and sweat in the phases to get 30 rainbows to get out of the buggy card and do not leave any card Ace, to no rainbow and there is no phase to pass, I’m going to miss Ace’s special ;-; ;-; ;-;

    • Mushroom says:

Sorry to hear that. We don’t know when they’ll next repeat Ace’s special, but they repeat characters occasionally, so if you really want Ace, maybe save up your coins for the next time they have him, or try single 5 coin spins on the current one.

hi did they give a reason why they removed the re-queue button after you finish a quest, makes farming with friends really annoying now.

Two multis and no Whitebeard’s special T_T

How good is Ace’s mode change special compared to the normal one?
I managed to get it, yet even when I have higher stats than other Aces with the normal special, they seem to always get way higher scores at the end.
Is it just that I’m not timing my specials as well or is the mode change possibly weaker? (I notice it also ends a lot faster than other character’s mode changes)

    • Shu says:

There’re a lot of factors that affect the scores. Timing, as you say, as well as how many enemies got caught in the attack, whose burn effect stayed on the boss, and so on.

There’s also the factor that Ace’s Fire Fist probably (I didn’t verify this lately) still has the bug where it does double the damage you see on screen.

These factors aside, if you’re comparing pure damage output, the same level Fire Fist would probably win Flame Emperor any day. FF is pure damage with wide range and a great auto-aim. Mode Change grants you buffs and physical invincibility on top of wide range damage, but on the other hand the (awesome) animation alone takes up more time than FF and the Mode Change’s long cool-down is a problem if you expect to use it a second time whereas Fever time can let you pull off up to maybe 3 FFs in the same time.

If your goal is MVP, Fire Fist is your best friend, but I suspect Flame Emperor would be great in Toughest Events if you play it right. On some level, I’m glad FE doesn’t completely outclass/replace FF. This game could do with more variety.

Personally I’m just hoping one day a patch will allow us to equip more than one Special at a time lol.

      • Idaf says:

        Alright thanks!
I don’t really find MVP a big importance so I think I’ll stick with the mode change since I have it’s golden card.
Since the mode change gives invincibility and stat boosts, that probably means I shouldn’t use FE until the mode change is about to end so not to waste it on the animation, right?
I’ve gotten very used to this game but I guess there’s still a lot to learn. Thanks for the info!

        • Mushroom says:

I think there’s no one answer for when it is best to use FE during mode change – it depends on your opponent, strategy, objective, other characters in your party, etc. Status boost does seem to last during FE even when mode change has ended. Also note that without fever, if you want to use Fire Pillar twice during mode change, at least once has to be before FE. The rest is pretty much up to you.

when is akainu & kuzan stage?

    • Shu says:

The notice only ever says ‘in the later half of the event’. It usually starts the last 2 or 3 days; tbh I haven’t been keeping track.
