Battle Adjustments

There will be a few changes to the battle system that will take effect in late October:

  1. It will become easier to switch characters in battle
    • The ‘freeze’ time right after you switch characters will be shortened
    • The cool-down time to switch the character back in will be shortened
    • The distance and range of enemies that are thrown when you switch characters will be adjusted.
  2. Multiple status ailments can be inflicted at the same time
    • Damage-causing statuses (such as burn, bleed and poison) can be inflicted together with no-damage statuses (such as stun, fear, etc.)
    • More than one damage-causing statuses (such as burn, bleed and poison) can be inflicted together
  3. Some character’s attacks will hit the enemy more easily. The list is below.

    Didn’t they say there is gonna be a new feature revealed later on also who would like to see a system using haki, logia, and devil fruit awakening to make the game even more strategy based

      I don’t know where they “said” this. I’ve never seen it myself.
      The closest thing is Form Change, and so far there’s only Gear 4, but it is an officially launched feature and more form change will come in future I’m sure.

    Nice, some buffs for Koala. She’s my new favorite damage dealer.

    I’m guessing the NW Luffy special they are talking about is not Gear 4.

    By “will hit the enemy more easily” can we assume that they means scaling up the attack hitboxes for more AOE? Or does that refer to the calculation on their chance to hit/miss?

      Koala seems strong and is great against bosses like Akainu and dragons. Too bad I didn’t get many of her cards…

      Yup, “Redhawk” is his other Special attack card.

      I can’t say for sure from the wording alone, but the list of skills and specials above mostly have a tendency to hit air just because the enemy literally walked one step away in the 1-2 seconds the attack takes to reach the target, so I’m assuming/hoping it’s something like auto-lock-on.

        It does seem to be a reasonably larger AOE. I had Koala’s special hit a boss that was way beyond where I would expect it to hit. I lucked into her 5* special and a few 4* copies, leaving her special at lvl 5. Other characters are way better at dealing with crowds, but I think she might be the best single target DPS in the game at the moment. It’s also neat how her special can juggle them up while they are knocked down.

          That’s great to hear, I haven’t tested Sabo’s skill yet myself, but as long as it does tend to hit the target more I have no complaints how it’s done.

          She sounds awesome for fire-bosses, really. I only have her special at lvl 2. I really should save my coins for her or Jinbei’s rerun.
